How Rellia collects, uses, and protects your information.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Rellia, Inc. ("Rellia," "we," "us") collects about you, how we use it, with whom we share it, and your choices. This Policy applies to the Rellia Platform at relliahomes.com, our mobile applications, and all related services (the "Platform").
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Account registration information: name, email, phone number, address, password.
- Identity verification information: date of birth, government-issued identification (where required).
- Financial information related to transactions: proof of funds, pre-approval letters, income, closing-related financial details. We do not collect or store full bank account numbers or card numbers; payment processing and financial account details are handled by our payment processor and your licensed ecosystem partners.
- Property-related information: for sellers, listing details, photos, disclosures; for buyers, offer details, preferences.
- Documents uploaded to the document vault.
- Communications on the Platform (messages, notes, support inquiries).
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, actions taken, timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
- Approximate location, based on IP address.
Information from third parties
- Ecosystem partners may share transaction information (for example, title reports, inspection results, loan status).
- Identity verification and anti-fraud providers.
- Public records, where permitted.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Platform and our services.
- Authenticate users and secure the Platform, including multi-factor authentication and fraud detection.
- Facilitate your transaction, including coordination with the ecosystem partners you select.
- Communicate with you about your account, transactions, and service updates.
- Personalize your experience and recommend partners or services.
- Comply with legal obligations, including anti-fraud, anti-money-laundering, and tax reporting requirements.
- Defend against legal claims and enforce our Terms.
- Measure the performance of our marketing with optional analytics and advertising technologies. These technologies stay off until you allow them through the on-site "Privacy choices" control described in our Cookie Policy, and you can decline them.
- Analyze aggregate, de-identified usage to improve the product. We do not sell your personal information in the commercial advertising sense of the term.
3. How we share your information
- Transaction counterparties. To complete your transaction, we share information with the other party to the transaction and with the ecosystem partners you select (attorney, title, lender, inspector, insurance provider), consistent with each party's role.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Platform (hosting, analytics, communications, identity verification), under contract terms that require confidentiality and data protection.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Rellia, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Rellia is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable confidentiality protections.
- With your consent. We may share information in other ways if you give us consent.
- Aggregated and de-identified data. We may share aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
We do not sell your personal information in the commercial advertising sense of the term.
4. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Optional analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you allow them through the on-site "Privacy choices" control. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
5. Data retention
- Account information: for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.
- Transaction records: retained for at least seven (7) years following closing or withdrawal, to comply with legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.
- Audit logs (including wire-related events): retained for at least seven (7) years per the Wire Fraud Prevention Protocol.
- Marketing communications data: retained until you opt out.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including mandatory multi-factor authentication for security-sensitive actions, encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, audit logging, and independent security reviews. However, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password and MFA factors safe.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you may access and update your account information at any time.
- Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and associated information, subject to legal and operational retention requirements (for example, transaction records we are required to retain).
- Marketing opt-out: you may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- Cookie and tracking preferences: manage through the on-site "Privacy choices" control, our Cookie Policy, and your browser settings.
8. Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other state privacy jurisdictions
If you reside in a state with a comprehensive privacy law (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others as of the effective date), you may have additional rights, including the right to know, the right to correct, the right to delete, the right to opt out of targeted advertising, and the right to appeal a denied request. You can opt out of optional analytics and advertising technologies at any time through the on-site "Privacy choices" control. To exercise any other right, contact us at privacy@relliahomes.com or through our privacy request form. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children
The Platform is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it.
10. International users
The Platform is designed for use in the United States, initially in New York. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email.
